Clinicaurbana is invited to take part in the re-enactment of the exhibition Italy: The New Domestic Landscape. New York 1972/Venice 2020. The fragment of an ordinary 1960s apartment – a square metre of wooden floor – is excised and repositioned in Ca’ Tron palace in Venice. The perimeter is circumscribed by a mirror framing fifty centimetres tall. The reflections’ optical effect on the inside of the framing paradoxically increases the floor surface. The multiplication of this portion of space metaphorically returns two different dimensions: on one side, the extent of the building stock that awaits an upgrade, hidden within the city; on the other side, the exponential function of small design actions, produced starting from the belly of the city. The exhibition was cancelled due to the pandemic.
