A connection is re-built between three elements: the ancient stone building, the former butchery, the mountain. The small scale of the intervention reverberates at the urban and landscape scale. The ancient building dominates the square with rigour. On the north side, a new architecture replaces the former butchery, a charmless tumbledown building without qualities. The simple volume from which it is carved is bevelled in several points, shaped by its surroundings. Broad windows are placed on the inclined and on the orthogonal walls, their orientation defined by the elements of the landscape. Mount Civetta, mount Pelmo, the village, the wood, the rifabbrico architecture, an ancient tree, are caught inside the rooms and inside the square. The exposed concrete solid is the mineral echo of the mountain peaks. Slight setbacks on the external walls limit the runoff and dialogue with the tabiĆ features. Strategically situated at the edge of the square and of the historic presences, this architecture is the pivot of the whole intervention, a generator of relations between artifacts and biological elements.
