The bivouac is the last architecture before the sky. Within the harshness of the mountain, the image of a symbolic item is reactivated: the mylar emergency blanket takes on the shape and the dimensions of the bivouac. As a shiny mirage on the horizon, this architecture wraps the climbers in a metallic embrace.
The exterior skin made of mylar, a lightweight industrial material with multiple qualities, reflects the thermal radiation and retains the internal warmth. The reflections of the high-visibility sheet make the bivouac easily detectable during the ascent and in case of emergency rescue. At the same time, the sheet picks the tones of the rock and the environmental features of each season.
